Baldridge Session 2025

As an Alamo Colleges Board of Trustees member and 2-time Board Chair
for nearly 32 years, I strongly endorse and support the Re-Election of my
friend and fellow Board Member, Leslie Sachanowicz, to represent District
9 ,Alamo Colleges District Board of Trustees.
Asa community leader and legal professional, Leslie. Sachanowicz brings
integrity, vision for the future and a dedication to work collaboratively to
build on Alamo Colleges momentum of nationally recognized student
success achievements. The reelection of Leslie Sachanowicz is critical in
maintaining that momentum of success for Alamo Colleges

I have had the distinct honor of serving as a the D2 Trustee for the Alamo Colleges District along side my Colleague, Leslie Sachanowicz, JD-District 9. Both Districts run contiguously from near downtown San Antonio all the way out to the County Line, Northeast. We began our service to our Bexar County citizen constituents in 2020/2021 only days apart. While the citizens who elected us to serve them come from different backgrounds and demographics, our service and commitment to excellence for ALL District students and their families are jointly mirrored. Trustee Sachanowicz is eminently qualified for, and well prepared to continue to serve as the District 9 Trustee. He is managing partner and practicing attorney of his own law firm. He graduated from St. Mary’s University, School of Law. Subsequently, he served as a Law Professor at that same institution. As an Educator, he understands firsthand the challenges of nurturing students who struggle to prepare themselves for a brighter professional future, many of whom work and attend college part time while rearing families. He is a strong advocate for Academic and Student Success throughout our community college system. In addition to his service as a Trustee, he was elected by his peers to also represent the Alamo Colleges District on the Bexar Appraisal District, the very agency that sets property tax assessments for all taxing entities in the county. His understanding and practice of the law makes him eminently qualified to strongly advocate for equitable tax assessments for all citizens of Bexar County. He has proven himself to be a strong leader who also interacts successfully with all our Board colleagues, while holding firm to his convictions, standards and integrity. He has the current experience, leadership ability and integrity to continue to ably represent his constituents. He deserves re-election as the Trustee for D9.

Leslie Sachanowicz brings the kind of experience, leadership, and proven results that matter for students, families, and the future of our workforce.
With more than 30 years as a civil attorney, Leslie understands how to navigate complex issues, protect public resources, and make sound, strategic decisions. His background in litigation, mediation, and corporate governance ensures that the Alamo Colleges District is guided with accountability, transparency, and fiscal responsibility.
As the current District 9 Trustee, Leslie has already been doing the work—helping expand access to higher education, strengthening workforce development programs, and supporting initiatives that prepare students for real careers right here in Bexar County. He doesn’t need training on the job—he’s already delivering results.
Leslie’s experience in public service—including time with the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office and as General Counsel for the Coliseum Advisory Board—gives him a deep understanding of how local government works and how to get things done effectively.
Beyond his professional career, Leslie has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to the community. His leadership with organizations like Credit Human, the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and City Year San Antonio reflects a hands-on dedication to economic growth, education, and opportunity.
And as an educator himself—teaching government and law at San Antonio College and St. Mary’s University—Leslie understands firsthand the challenges and opportunities facing today’s students.
Proven. Experienced. Committed.
Leslie Sachanowicz isn’t just talking about improving education—he’s spent his career doing it. That’s why voters can trust him to continue delivering results and building a stronger future for our community.
